I’m very excited to announce that my first picture book, MIDNIGHT CRAB COUNT, will be hitting bookstores February 2017! I just got the ARC in recently and I love how it’s coming out.
MOONLIGHT CRAB COUNT written by Neeti Bathala & Jennifer Keats Curtis and illustrated by Veronica V. Jones is the story of Leena and her mom, who volunteer each summer to count the horseshoe crabs that visit their beach. With their dog Bobie at their sides, these adventuresome citizen scientists spend a night on the shore surveying horseshoe crabs who have come to mate and lay eggs. Readers will learn valuable facts about these ancient animals and how they can get involved in the effort to conserve horseshoe crabs. 32 pg, 8.5×10, Ages 4-9, Grades K-3 Lexile: AD 780 For more info go to: http://www.arbordalepublishing.com/bookpage.php?id=MoonlightCrab
I loved working with my editor Katie at Arbordale Publishing and I’m exciting to working on a different, new book about research into endangered lizards in the Virgin Islands. BTW, teachers and librarians, let me know if you’re interested in arranging either a school visit or a Skype session!
