I recently was lucky enough to attend the NESCBWI conference in May. In addition to great workshops, inspiring speakers and the chance to rub elbows with talented writers, artists, editors, agents and art directors, they had a contest. The challenge was to illustrate a poem by Jane Yolen. Although I didn’t win, I am very happy with the result.
